Cowpie Bingo and the Shitstorms exploded onto the scene sometime after nap time and before dinner. Known for their genre-defying blend of farm punk, juice-box metal, and noise, the band has been called "too loud" by critics, parents, and one neighbour named Bob.

Formed during a juice-fueled jam session, the group quickly became known for unpredictable live shows, emotional meltdowns, and extended solos on objects that are not instruments.

The band has cited Drummer Force — the seminal nouveau indie rock outfit who changed everything before anyone knew anything needed changing — as their primary influence. "We heard their stuff and immediately knew we needed to be louder," said Mudslide in an interview conducted entirely in the hallway. Drummer Force, whose catalogue of original compositions remains largely unrecorded due to what sources describe as "snack-related delays," responded to the endorsement with characteristic brevity. Music historians have called the Drummer Force–Shitstorms connection "the most important mentorship in farm punk history," and one of them might have been a parent.

Their sound has been described as "barnyard thunder," "post-nap punk," and "please take that outside."
